“Hey friends! I’m Jocelyn, I use she/her pronouns, and I am the President of Diversity in Engineering. I joined DivE because I wanted to find friends who would love and respect me for who I am. Fun fact about me: I play the violin, piano and guitar, but the violin is my favorite 🎻”


VP Internal: Linda (She/Her)

“Hi my name is Linda. I use she/her pronouns. I am the Vice President Internal of Diversity in Engineering. I have been part of DivE for over 2 years because of the motivating and educational events we host, as well as welcoming and inclusive people I meet here. Fun fact about myself: I really really really like traveling, I recall all those beautiful memories everyday!”


Research Lead: Jade (she/her)

“Hello! I’m Jade (she/her), the research lead for DivE. I’m going into my final year of chemical engineering and I joined because I had a lot of fun at the “School your Allies” trivia event earlier this year (pre-covid)! A fun fact about me is that I love trivia but I’m pretty bad at it.”


VP Communications/Promotions: Megan (She/Her)

“Hi everyone! My name is Megan and I use she/her pronouns. I am the VP Communications/Promotions for DivE, so I’m usually the one behind the social media accounts :). I joined DivE to meet some new friends and to help make STEM a more inclusive place! A little fun fact about me; you can usually find me rock climbing, playing ringette, playing rugby or doing photography! “


VP Events: Christina (She/Her)

“Hi everyone, I’m Christina, a third year engineering physics student. I use she/her pronouns and I am the VP of Events of the Diversity in Engineering club. I joined the club because I wanted to make friends with similar values and believe that clubs like these are needed to help create a more diverse engineering workforce”


VP Marketing: Grace (she/her)

“Hi! My name is Hao Fan, you can also call me Grace. My pronouns are She/Her. I am a third year Electrical Engineering student. In DivE my position is VP Marketing. I love to communicate with others and gather interesting ideas from them. DivE is a great place to make new friends and practice my communication and management skills. A fun fact about myself is that I enjoy watching any kind of movie.”


VP Finance: Maria (She/Her)

“Hi everyone! My name is Maria and I use she/her pronouns. I am a third year chemical engineering student and currently VP of Finance for DivE. I joined DivE in order to advocate for more inclusivity in STEM and meet like minded individuals.
In my free time I love to play soccer or listen to music to de-stress and fun fact about me is I’ve touched Beyoncé’s hand :)”


VP External: Ashima (She/Her)

“Hi everyone! My name is Ashima and I use she/her pronouns. I am VP External of DivE. I joined DivE to make new friends and to meet more like minded people. Fun fact: I love trekking, camping, and anything that has to do with the outdoors :)”


General Member: Vibha (She/Her)

“Hi everyone! I am Vibha and my preferred pronoun is she/her. I joined DivE because I wanted to advocate for LGBTQ rights here on campus. Dive has always made sure to welcome students from all backgrounds and ethnicities. I had a lot of fun during our ” Women in Engineering event” last year which allowed us to meet and talk to some great female engineers about their path in this usually male-dominated industry.One fun fact about me is that I love gardening during the summer months.😀”

“Hey folks! My name is Jaxton and I use he/him pronouns. I’m a General Member with DivE and I joined to meet some like-minded people and help contribute to making the Faculty of Engineering a more inclusive place for everyone. Fun fact about me: I love the outdoors and spend a lot of time in the Rockies backpacking, mountaineering and snowboarding!”


General Member: Elsa

“Hi, everyone:) I am Elsa Chen and my preferred pronoun is she/her. This September, I will enter my first year in Software Engineering. As a member of Diversity in Engineering, I am excited about all the new events happening in the following semester. I joined DivE because I want to advocate individuals from underrepresented backgrounds and help to create a safe place for them. One little fun fact about myself is I have 2 adorable cats back home in Calgary. Their names are Snoopy and Jiujiu although I know Snoopy is a dog name:)”

I also look forward to meeting and working with people who share similar values. In my free time you can catch me producing music or visiting local cafes.”

“Hello everyone! My name is Namrata Sarkhot (She/ her). I am extremely happy to be a part of DivE and work with them as a general member. I have always wanted to be a part of DivE as their work really inspires me to not only be a better person but also to be considerate and respectful of every individual. A fun fact about me is that I absolutely love watching new recipes and cooking but I am really not good at it 😅”

“Hi yall! I’m Kaelyn and fourth year Materials Engineering student. My pronouns are they/them and she/her. I’m a new general member of DivE, and i joined to help work toward a more inclusive environment for non binary, gender diverse and underrepresented engineering students! Fun facts: I love to read and I did flamenco dance for 9 years!”

“Hello! My name is Sharone and I use she/her pronouns. I am a member of DivE. I joined DivE because I wanted to discuss and learn more about issues individuals or groups might face and also to meet  new people!Also fun fact: I was born in Dubai, I love food…of all sorts and I also have ridden a Camel (sort of a scary experience) :)”

“Hi! My name is Lycee and my pronouns are she/her. I’m in my second year of Environmental Engineering and a new member of DivE. I joined DivE because inclusivity plays a big part in my life and it has allowed me to meet and learn from people of different backgrounds. Fun fact: I collect tea!”

“Hi everyone! My name is Emma Van de Venter, and my pronouns are she/her. I am in my first year of engineering at UofA. I was really excited to see the DivE group and joined immediately! Fun fact: (credit to Sharone’s post) I have ridden an ostrich before.”

“Hi, everyone! My name is Nimrit and I use she/her pronouns. I recently joined DivE as a general member and am super excited to be a part of the team! I joined because I love meeting new, like-minded people and also because I hope to help create a safe and inclusive space in engineering for everyone.Fun fact: I absolutely love baking! It may not always look the fanciest, but if it tastes good, that’s a win for me! :smile:

“My name is Ammu Naduvath and my pronouns are she/her. I recently joined Diversity in Engineering as a general member. The main reason I joined DivE is because I believe it is important to promote inclusivity in academic and workspace environment ; it is an opportunity to learn and accept individual difference. Fun fact : I often do artwork journals to de-stress myself from campus routine.”
